About the mhs homes group
mhs homes is the largest independent landlord in Kent.
We formed in 1990 when we acquired the entire housing
stock of the then Rochester Upon Medway City Council and now own
and manage more than 8,000 homes in Medway.
Our core business is the provision of high quality affordable
homes to the people of Medway. We also aim to make a crucial
contribution to the wider regeneration of the Thames Gateway and
promote social enterprise.
The three subsidiaries of the mhs homes group; mhs homes, mhs
commercial services and mhs community charity, focus on delivering
first class services to their wide range of clients and customers.
The vision, objectives and values of the
group underpin all that the three subsidiaries do.
The Medway Pledge
mhs homes shares the long term vision and key ambitions for
Medway set out in the Sustainable Communities Strategy 2010-26. We
recognise that it is vital to work in partnership with other major
organisations within Medway to improve local neighbourhoods and
help people living in these communities to achieve their potential.
As part of our commitment to Medway, mhs homes has made a Medway
Pledge.
The Heart of Medway Housing Association was set up as a
registered provider by mhs homes in 2010 to enable us to continue
to be eligible for grant funding, in order to build and
manage new homes. As a Registered Provider with charitable status,
this subsidiary will be regulated by the Tenant Services Authority
and is subject to inspection by the Audit Commission.
The role of the board is to provide strategic direction, ensure
accountability and to support and advise management.
Equality and diversity are integral to all of our
activities in every aspect of the work that we do.
Every year our staff are asked to nominate a charity they would
like to support and raise money for. This year we have chosen
The Friends
of the Wisdom Hospice.
