Ashley Hook 2010Ashley Hook, Chief Executive

Ashley was appointed Chief Executive of mhs homes in July 2009.  He has worked for mhs homes since 2003 as Housing Director. A Chartered Surveyor by profession, Ashley has a strong background in housing, having previously worked for a number of local authorities and housing associations.  Prior to joining mhs homes, he was Head of Housing for Lewisham Council with responsibility for 35,000 properties and all strategic housing services.

Ashley is a member of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIOH). He is also an external examiner for Southampton Solent University, an assessor for the RICS and occasionally a visiting lecturer and contributor to a number of publications and seminars.



Bruce Shelmerdine 2009

Bruce Shelmerdine, Group Finance Director

Bruce was appointed Finance Director in February 2006. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant  in 1991 and became an associate member of Corporate Treasurers in 2000.

Bruce has worked in the housing sector since 1992 with a number of Registered Social Landlords covering many aspects of the Housing Association sector. Previous to his appointment at mhs homes Bruce was the Finance Director at Kelsey Housing Association.

 

 


 


Carl Dewey 2009Carl Dewey, Commercial Director

 

Carl was appointed Commercial Director in March 2006. He has worked for the mhs homes since 1992 and is a passionate advocate of personnel development, born out of his own experience with the mhs homes group. A Chartered Builder by profession, he has a strong background in Reactive & Planned Maintenance and is a member of the institute of Building Engineers.

Focusing on Quality and Customer Service, he leads the private building arm of mhs homes group, mhs commercial services limited, and provides housing maintenance services to external customers.


 


Gary Clark

Gary Clark joined mhs homes in October 2012. He previously held a similar role at Surrey-based Rosebery Housing Association. Prior to his time at Rosebery from 2010, Gary held the post of Assistant Director of Commercial Initiatives at the Peabody Trust, one of the largest and oldest housing associations in London.

He has also worked at Moat Housing as Regional Housing Director and Sales and Marketing Manager.

Before going in to the housing sector Gary worked for Tesco for 14 years in a number of senior management roles.
