Governance
The Group Board has ultimate responsibility for the direction
and control of the business of the Group and its subsidiaries. It
is accountable to tenants, regulators and other key stakeholders
for the successful delivery and development of the housing and
related services and other activities provided by the Group,
ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory
requirements.
The board is committed to high standards of corporate governance
and has adopted the National Housing Federation’s code of
governance.
The Board Members' main purpose is to promote the organisation's
vision, purpose and values through the management control,
accountability and good conduct of the association and of the Board
of Directors.
Board Members' key responsibilities
To set the strategic objectives of mhs homes
To ensure that these objectives are met
To determine the vision and values of mhs homes
To review the policies and procedures relating to governance,
legal, regulatory requirements and good practice
To regularly measure and review the performance of mhs homes and
make recommendations for improvement where appropriate
To ensure that the interests and needs of residents and customers
are considered in all matters
To attend board meetings on a regular basis and to contribute
effectively to them
To abide by the NHF Excellence in Standards of Conduct
Not to do anything to undermine the work or the good name of mhs
homes or its subsidiaries
