Local Offers
Local Offers are here and represent a new way of tailoring the
services mhs homes offer based on what our customers want.
We have tried to ensure that everyone has had the opportunity to
contribute to these Local Offers and plan to keep you informed of
how we are performing against them to ensure they are working for
you.
Here are the Local Offers for 2011 and the progress we have made
so far:
1. Improved communication
mhs news is now published every quarter and we have included a
new section for Leaseholders and Shared Owners.
2. 'Tell us your views' - easy complaints procedure
'Tell us your views' is a new service to make it easier for you
to tell us if we get things wrong. We aim to resolve your
complaint within 24 hours. We will start drop in Complaints
Sessions at mhs express on the last Thursday of every
month very shortly. You can also contact us on 01634 565333, email
complaints@mhs.org.uk or
complete our online form at www.mhs.org.uk if you want to tell us
your views.
3. Talking to Leaseholders - opportunity to have your
say
We are providing four evening events per year for
Leaseholders and Shared Owner/Rent To Buy customers, the
evenings held in June and September were both well attended. The
next event will be the 20th March 2012 at our Broadside office.
4. Meeting up with you - Sheltered Schemes
Started in August 2011, all senior managers and directors each
attend one scheme meeting per year. Details are put on the
Sheltered Scheme notice boards. Action points from these
meetings have been passed on to the relevant service areas.
5. Confirming our appointments - confirmation texts for
repairs appointments
We have set up a system for text messaging for customers
who report repairs so that we can confirm the appointment date and
time. This text messaging service will start very soon.
6. Local rate numbers
You can now call us on 01634 565333.
7. Keeping our residents living in flats safe - fire
safety information
A new fire safety leaflet is available and has been sent to
customers living in our blocks of flats and new notice boards are
being put up in blocks of flats ready for fire plans.
8. Keeping our neighbourhoods tidy - rubbish and
litter-free areas
Community skip days were run at Fort Pitt Street, Chatham and
Shorts Way, Rochester.
9. Easier car parking in Borstal, Central Chatham and Earl
Estate, Strood
Neighbourhood Officers have been working with local residents to
develop additional parking in these areas. Barriers have been
installed at Dale Street to stop commuters using the car park and
options are being examined for Prospect Row.
10. Extra dog waste bins
Eight extra dog bins have been installed in Chatham at Maida
Road, Melville Court, Wiltshire Close/Somerset Close, Heron Way,
Heather Close and one in Strood at Humber Crescent.
