Want to move home

All social housing in the Medway Towns is let through Kent Homechoice which is a scheme run by Medway Council.  Kent Homechoice allows you to have a say in what property you wish to rent within Medway.  For more information or to apply for housing visit www.kenthomechoice.org.uk

If you are already a tenant of an mhs homes property but your home is either too large,  too small, or doesn't meet your needs you can apply to move to another property.  Here are the ways you can move:

Mutual Exchanges

This is where you simply swap your home with another tenant.  You can either swap your home with a tenant of another housing association or local council.  For more information please see our Mutual Exchanges webpages.

Transfers

You may apply to transfer to another property if the property you are living in doesn't meet your needs.  For more information please visit our Transfers webpages.

Moving to a non-mhs homes property

If you wish to move out of your mhs homes property you must give 4 weeks notice in writing.  Find out more by visiting our Moving to a non-mhs property webpages.

Moving into Supported Housing

If you are aged 55 and over you can apply for sheltered housing accommondation, which provides bed sits, self contained flats and bungalows with opportunites to mix with other residents in the scheme. You will continue to live independently, while know that help is at hand in an emergency.  Most of the schemes can offer a guest room, shared lounge and laundary facilities.
