Governance
Following a review of our governance
arrangements, two new non executives have been appointed to the
Commercial Board and the Chair of the Commercial Board, Chris
Sparks, has been appointed to the Group Board. In addition one
new non executive and an existing member of the Board have been
appointed to the Finance, Risk & Audit Committee.
Board champions have been appointed
for specific portfolios including Customer Service, Value for
Money, Equality & Diversity and Sustainability.
As part of our Business Strategy for
2010-13, the Board also agreed new Vision, Objectives and Values.
The Directors Team place much emphasis
on being visible and listening to staff. In order to promote
effective communication and staff development, we hold Directors
Roadshows, Listening Lunches and have a job shadowing policy for
all members of staff. Our performance targets are set out in our
service plan which next year has been developed as a result of our
independent inspection.
As part of our commitment to Equality
and Diversity, we were this year awarded the Two Ticks
accreditation by the Jobcentre Plus for evidencing a positive
attitude towards job applications from people with
disabilities.
