Repair compensation
You may be awarded compensation if certain repairs are not
completed on time. The repairs covered by this scheme are emergency
and urgent repairs which are likely to affect your health, safety
or security such as:
- loss of electrical power
- loss of water supply
- loss of washing or toilet facilities
- loss of heating
- loss of supply to cooking facilities
How does this scheme work?
When you report a repair you will be notified when the job
should be completed. If it has not been completed by this
time, you should inform the repairs team immediately who will
ensure that a contractor attends to fix the problem.
If the contractor fails to complete the repair on time, again
you may be entitled to claim £10 compensation plus a further £2 for
every extra day you wait, up to a maximum of £50.
You cannot apply for compensation if there is a valid reason for
the work not being completed, for example, failure to allow the
contractor access or if you do not keep an appointment.
