We are committed to providing a sustainable environment and adopt best practice solutions where possible. We have achieved a Silver Standard SHIFT Award (Sustainable Homes Index for Tomorrow) in recognition of our approach to environmental issues.

Our Environment and Sustainability Strategy provides clear guidance on how we can minimise the adverse environmental impact as a result of the way we provide our services. For example:

  • 90 new trees were planted as part of the environmental improvements at Shipwright Estate.

We aim to develop a greenspace strategy which will promote access to good quality green space for all of our residents.

Estate Improvement schemes

We are proud of our track record of creating imaginative, estate improvement schemes in consultation with our residents

The Shipwright Estate has been transformed following a major improvement scheme completed in partnership with Medway Council, The Wildlife Trust and Groundwork, an environmental regeneration charity.

The needs of all residents have been incorporated in the scheme. The quality of life for all has been enhanced as residents of all ages now enjoy wildflower meadows, a kickabout pitch, raised flower beds, seating areas, newly created private garden spaces, trees and new off street car parking spaces.
