Retirement Schemes
Retirement Schemes (also known as
Sheltered Housing) allows people over 55 (customers aged 50 years
and over, will be considered if certain support needs are
identified) to live independently with the added security of having
someone to call on in emergencies. Support saff visit
the scheme to check on the wellbeing of residents, liaising with
their family and doctors where appropriate.
Residents rent their own private
accommodation and benefit from communal facilities such as lounges
and laundry facilities.
Scheme Managers
The Scheme Manager gives day-to-day
support to help residents live independently in their homes. The
support they provide includes:
- Give advice about security, heating and safety
- Assess residents support needs and ensure the agreed plans
are in place
- Liaise with health professionals, family or nominated
contacts
- Promote social activities
