Sheltered Housing

mhs homes owns 21 sheltered schemes in the Medway area which are supported by three teams of Support Officers from mhs links. The sheltered schemes allow people aged 50 years plus if they have support needs or over 55 years without support needs, to live independently with the added security of having someone to call on in emergencies. Support Officers visit the scheme to check on the well being of residents, liase with their family and doctors where appropriate.

Residents rent their own private accommodation and benefit from communal facilities such as lounges and laundry facilities.

mhs Links recently developed a handbook for Sheltered Housing residents. This is a very detailed publication about living in Sheltered Housing and answers some of the main questions people have about living in such accommodation. Every resident receieves one of these handbooks. To view the Residents Handbook please click on the following link:

Resident Consultation

It is now two and a half years since the restructure of the Links  support service in 2007. Since then we have carried out a number of surveys to measure the customer satisfaction of the service we provide.

This year we delivered 600 questionnaires throughout the schemes and received almost 300 replies from customers. Click on the link below for a summary of the replies we received and how the service has been improved due to our customer’s comments and suggestions.
