Disabled Adaptations
If you need to have your home adapted
to suit the needs of a disabled resident you will need mhs
homes approval before alterations are made. This includes
adaptations carried out on your behalf by Medway Council.
It is highly unlikely that approval
will not be granted for alterations of this nature as long as the
works are carried out to proper standards and do not affect the
structure of your home.
How do I apply for approval?
mhs homes have a limited budget for
adaptations so can only complete minor works. You may be able
to seek funding from Medway Council for major adaptations.
You need to seek mhs homes approval
for any propose alterations including those to be carried out by
Medway Council.
If the adaptation requires planning
approval, it is your or the Council’s Occupational Therapists
responsibility to obtain this.
