Your Tenancy
Your Tenancy Agreement is a legal document and sets out your
rights and responsibilities as a tenant of mhs homes. It is
important that you read the agreement and understand it and keep it
in a safe place.
Before moving into your home, you will be asked to sign a
tenancy agreement. Your Housing Officer will explain the tenancy
agreement and details of your new tenancy.
Depending on the type of tenancy that you hold your Housing
Officer will visit you to check how you are settling in at your new
home.
There are different types of tenancy, with different
conditions, the details of which can be found on our Types of Tenancy Agreement webpages.
It is important that you adhere to the terms of your Tenancy
Agreement such as paying your rent and not causing a nuisance to
others.
Sole and Joint Tenancies
We can offer sole or joint tenancies to couples with or without
children whether in a gay, heterosexual or platonic
relationship.
Security of Tenure
As a Protected or Assured Tenant you have Security of Tenure
provided the property is your main home and keep to the terms of
your Tenancy Agreement. This means that you cannot be evicted
without a Court Order.
Please remember that your home may be at risk if you are in
breach of your Tenancy Agreement.
