Foyers celebrate 10th Anniversary
Two groups of young residents
from our Foyers joined together to celebrate the 10th
anniversary of Foyers in Medway. Youngsters from the Springboard
Foyer in Rochester and the Endeavour Foyer in Chatham celebrated
the success of the two Foyers, which have been providing a valuable
service to disadvantaged young people in the Medway area for ten
years.

homes completed a gruelling walk across the North Downs Way to help
raise over £6,000 for their chosen charity for 2010, "The British

Flash Fiction competition winner
The winner of the mhs news flash
fiction competition was 12 year old Amaka Opara from Chatham. Amaka
was presented with a Nintendo Wii from Housing Officer, Angela
Ewen. The inspiration for her short story came from watching
the life story of Shania Twain.

Staff of mhs homes raise £632 for Haiti
Appeal
Chief Executive Ashley Hook pledged to
clean the shoes of his staff and it wasn’t long before business was
booming and he had a queue of staff waiting to have their shoes
shined by the top man himself. The pledge was made as part of a
fundraising day for Haiti on which the staff of mhs homes raised
£632 to help victims of the disaster.
