£50 million investment in 300 new homes

Durell Placemhs homes has announced that it will be investing over £50 million to build new homes in the Medway area.

The programme will be delivered over the next four years and will provide good quality, and  highly energy efficient homes at affordable rates for local people.

Ashley Hook Chief Executive of mhs homes said, “The need for additional affordable housing is the greatest it has ever been. At mhs homes we are committed to working with Medway Council,  and other partner organisations to meet this growing demand.  Transforming existing and derelict sites to build a mix of homes for people to rent and buy under shared ownership schemes will be an integral part of our aim to create neighbourhoods that people can afford and want to live in."

Cllr Howard Doe, Cabinet and Portfolio holder for housing and community services at Medway Council said, “I am very pleased to learn that mhs homes will continue to invest  in new homes in the Medway area and hope that the proposed £50 million investment will enable more young people to get a first foot on the home ownership ladder.”
