Ian Bowes receives a cash prize from Chris RileyAnnual inspection ends in windfall for mhs tenant

A routine gas safety check led to one lucky mhs homes customer, Ian Bowes collecting a cash prize of £100.

Ian Bowes from Gorse Avenue, Chatham was surprised to hear he won £100 in the Gas Inspection draw organised by mhs homes in conjunction with Swale Heating.

Ian was picked from 1,400 tenants that had booked appointments for their annual gas safety check during the quarter of the year. He said "At first I wouldn’t believe the lady on the other end of the line. I thought it was a prank phone call so I was a bit suspicious. It’s not every day you have someone phone up and tell you you’ve won £100 for doing nothing. I think it’s a fantastic idea and a great incentive for people to get their gas checks done. It certainly made my day."

mhs homes is running the draw in its’ quarterly newsletter, mhs news which is distributed to 7,500 properties. Beryl Dunn, mhs homes, Customer Services Manager, said, "As a legal requirement it is essential that we gain access to properties to do this check. They are totally free of charge and now our customers have the added benefit of being in with the chance of winning £100 just for keeping their house and family safe, it’s that easy to win!"

Chris Riley, Operations Director for Swale Heating presented Ian with his £100 cash. He said, "Everyone should have their gas appliances checked to ensure the safety of themselves, their families and their neighbours. Regular inspections means that the appliance is maintained and any issues can be dealt with at the visit, reducing the number of breakdowns. The quarterly draw is a good incentive and increases gas safety awareness which is always a positive."
