IIP Silver Award Success
mhs homes has joined the top 3% of employers in the
South East after recently achieving the Investors in People (IIP)
Silver Award.
Assessors from the IIP visited mhs homes in November as part of
the reassessment process of the “bronze” status previously awarded
to the housing association. The standard looks at business
improvements and how objectives are achieved by harnessing the
skills of people.
Chief Executive of mhs homes Ashley Hook said, “I am delighted
that we have finished the year with this very important success. We
have now joined one of the few organisations to be awarded the IIP
Silver award. This is an outstanding achievement for the
organisation and great testament to the hard work, commitment and
energy of everyone working for mhs homes. We managed to meet the
‘Silver’ award criteria strongly, therefore next year, we will be
looking at the work needed to move us from ‘Silver’ to ‘Gold’.”
The IIP standard is reviewed every 3 years and specifically
assesses how an organisation plans, develops, reviews and evaluates
training. Staff are selected from across the organisation for
interview by the assessors.
Approved trainer for the Institute of Leadership and Management,
Andy Moreland said, “Whilst working with mhs homes over the past
year, it has been wonderful to see such commitment from people to
drive continuous improvement through the business. The senior
management team continually reflect on how the organisation can
provide support to staff in order that they can provide the best
possible service to customers. This continuous improvement has been
demonstrated through first achieving Bronze recognition three years
ago and now being awarded Silver. There is no question that
mhs homes will soon be achieving Gold.”
