mhs cycle to work initiative is a hit with staff
mhs has partnered with "Cycle
Solutions" to offer staff the opportunity to get bicycles and
cycling equipment with savings of up to 53% from the retail value
through a salary sacrifice benefit scheme.
A number of mhs homes staff have
already joined the initiative including Audit Manager, Andy Pert.
Andy said, "I found it so easy to join and the benefits are huge.
Not only am I saving money on the cost of the bike and reducing my
fuel costs, I’m doing lots of exercise too and something good for
the environment. Time is very precious to me. With a young family I
don’t want to be spending time going to the gym, so having this
bike means I can do all my exercise travelling to and from work so
my weekends and evenings are free to spend with my children."
The scheme has been launched by the
Government to encourage people to use bicycles to travel to work
and back. Colin McCarthy, mhs homes HR Manager, explains why mhs is
supporting this initiative, "We feel it is really important to help
our staff get fit and healthy whilst helping the environment. This
year we have made great strides to reduce our carbon footprint. Not
only have we recently achieved ISO 14001 but we have established a
dedicated team of staff from across the group who meet regularly to
discuss new ways of moving the business forward. The cycle to work
initiative is just one of the ways we are helping the
environment."
