mhs trek for charity
Twelve members of mhs homes staff will
be walking 33 miles across the rugged terrain of Dartmoor in just
one day for our 2008 chosen charity, The Macmillan Cancer Care Unit
at Medway.
The staff members which include, mhs
homes’ Chief Executive, John Sands and Housing Director, Ashley
Hook will be aiming to replicate the Royal Marines challenge across
this wild terrain.
David Fradley from the Royal Marines
said, "We use Dartmoor as a training ground for recruits due to the
wild environment. No marine can receive their green beret without
completing this trek. It’s going to be a real challenge for these
members of staff, certainly in the time they have set themselves,
but what a fantastic way to help raise money for Macmillan?"
Madeline Chainey, PR
Manager said, "Members of staff have really picked up the
gauntlet and have gone all out to raise money for Macmillan Cancer
Care. Six months into the year we have already raised £25,500.
Anyone wanting to help us reach £50,000 before the end of the year
or who want to sponsor our Dartmoor team can do so via the just
giving website, http://www.justgiving.com/mhshomes"
