A grounds maintenance team from mhs homes has been praised recently by residents for their excellent customer service.

The team of seven joined a further twenty-eight members of staff who were congratulated by their colleagues and Directors for the outstanding service they provide for customers at the mhs "Customer Excellence Awards." Each member of staff received a certificate and Marks and Spencers vouchers. The grounds maintenance team which consists of Steve Agate, Nick West, Jason Kench, Simon Hinde, Andrew Noyce, Stephen Jackson and Justin Elward were the only complete team to win an award. Other awards were made to individuals for their personal service.

mhs homes customers, Simon and Caroline Miles from Tobruk Way, Chatham. Caroline said,  "We were extremely pleased with the work that was done in both our front and back garden, cutting back all the trees and hedges. The workmen were all very polite and courteous and did a fantastic job."

The Customer Excellence Awards are held four times a year and acknowledge mhs staff from different parts of the organisation, including; housing officers, tradespeople, welfare benefit and customer service advisors as well as staff from within the company who provide support for their colleagues. Caroline Proverbs, mhs homes Interim Housing Director presented the staff with their certificates and vouchers. She said, "These awards are a fantastic way of congratulating our staff and highlighting their achievements. It is particularly nice to see that our grounds maintenance team have been recognised for all their hard work and going that extra mile for our customers."

mhs homes also holds an annual "Employee of the Year Award" which allows mhs customers to nominate staff that have provided them with an exceptional service, or have gone beyond the call of duty to help. These nominations are judged by mhs tenant board representatives, Eileen Kenward and Pat Austin with the winner announced in November.
