John Sands, Chief Executive
John was a founder member of mhs homes in 1990 when it was
previously known as Medway Housing Society.
John's considerable experience in housing was gained in the
Housing Department of The Greater London Council, Thurrock Borough
Council and as Principal Housing Advisor at Rochester Upon Medway
City Council. He became a qualified member of the Chartered
Institute of Housing in 1973 and is also a member of the National
Association of Estate Agents.

Ashley Hook, Housing Director
Ashley was Appointed in May 2003 as Housing Director.
A Chartered Surveyor by profession, Ashley has a strong background
in housing, having previously worked for a number of local
authorities. He was Head of Housing for Lewisham Council
with responsibility for 35,000 properties and all non-landlord
and strategic housing services.
Ashley is an external examiner for the University of
Greenwich, a Housing Association Board Member (1993 - 2000)
and occasionally a visiting lecturer and contributor to a number of
publications and seminars. He is also a member and assessor of both
the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and The Chartered
Institute of Housing (CIOH).

Bruce Shelmerdine, Group Finance Director
Bruce was appointed Finance Director in February 2006. He
qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and became an
associate member of Corporate Treasurers in 2000.
Bruce has worked in the housing
sector since 1992 with a number of Registered Social Landlords
covering many aspects of the Housing Association sector. Previous
to his appointment at mhs homes Bruce was the Finance Director
at Kelsey Housing Association.
Terry Burton, Administration Director and Secretary
Terry has a BA degree, is a Master of Business
Administration, a qualified member of the Chartered Institute
of Personnel Development, a qualified Member of the Institute
of Management Service and a corporate member of the Institute of
Management.
During the setting up of mhs homes he developed the terms and
conditions of service, established personnel systems, assisted with
designing the organisation structures and fixing staff levels. In
1996 Terry became the Administration Director and Secretary
responsible for personnel, training, payroll, pensions, central
administration, legal and support services as well as
being Secretary to The Board.
