Location

High Halstow has a strong community spirit, with something for everyone it has a local cricket club and two village halls that offer a range of shows and activities for young and old. The nearby Hoo Sports Centre offers a wide selection of activities including swimming, gym and a wide selection of fitness classes. There's also plenty of countryside, estuary walks and nature reserves to enjoy.

Locally you'll find a convenience store with post office for your day to day needs and a little further afield in the surrounding towns of Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham and Strood you can find a range of supermarkets including Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.

The local pub the Red Dog in High Halstow is the centre of the village’s social life. The Horseshoe and Castle and the Fenn Bell Inn (the first pub in the country to be granted a full zoo licence) are also popular. Just down the road at Hoo St Werburgh there's the The Five Bells, as well as the Pink Paprika Indian restaurant.

The village lies just off the A228, which links swiftly to Rochester, Strood and Chatham. The closest train station is Strood which is just six miles away and has services direct to London including St Pancras with a journey time of around 35 minutes.
