The school summer holidays have begun and you might be wondering how to keep your kids (and yourselves) entertained this summer.

The Penshurst Maize Maze is back once again the design is a closely guarded secret. This maze is open daily, but will you crack it and find your way out? For more information click here

Make your own Royal Charles ship, 26 July 

Join in on this hands-on family craft activity to make your own flagship – but remember to keep it safe from the Dutch! These activities are supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and take place at Upnor Castle.

Family Wildlife Day, 27 July

Get stuck in with wildlife activities including pond dipping, bug hunting and exploring. This fun-filled event is suitable for all the family and is organised by Kent Wildlife Trust at 10am - 1pm. It's based in Ashford and tickets are on a donation basis.

Family Day at Dover Museum, 27 July

For a great day out for the whole family, pop along to the Family Day at Dover Museum, where you'll be able to play a whole range of board games. Entry is free and activities run from 10.30am to 3pm.

Peasant Life, 29 - 30 July

You can experience the gruesome side of Medieval England at this event, which promises to be rather stinky! You'll be taken into the heart of the working classes, where you can soak up the medieval sights, smells and sounds. Ticket details can be found here.

Whitstable Regatta, 12 - 13 August

Take the family along to see the traditional fairground rides, to learn circus skills, watch the sailing regatta, enjoy a drink, marvel at the medieval re-enactments and more. Find more details on their website.

Summer of Sport, May - September
