We’ve hit our fundraising target within eight months

We’ve raised £15,000 for our charity of the year, four months early.

Each calendar year our colleagues select a new charity of the year, based on nominations put forward by staff.

In January we announced that our charity for 2019 would be Mind, which provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

We set ourselves a target of raising £15,000 by the end of December, as well as raising lots of awareness both internally with colleagues and externally with our customers.

But we’re delighted to announce we’ve already smashed our target, just eight months into the year.

Our two biggest fundraisers include our annual golf day, which raised £5,600 and our canoe challenge, which raised £7,000.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and made this achievable, we couldn’t do it without you.

“I’m so impressed that we’ve been able to reach our target so quickly. We’ve also done lots to raise awareness, sharing the message that it’s ok not to be ok. We’ve run mindfulness sessions in our lunch breaks, taken part in the Time to Talk day, shared lots of advice and support both internally and externally, supported our customers struggling with hoarding and more. I nominated Mind as our charity of the year with the aim of raising as much money and awareness as possible, and I’m so pleased we’re achieving that" said Hannah Gwilt, our charity representative
“We are so grateful to mhs for choosing Mind as their charity of the year. In under a year they’ve raised significant awareness of mental health problems and funds for Mind. Thank you to everyone at mhs and all those who have supported their fundraising efforts. The money raised will help us continue to be there for anyone who needs us, funding our vital work including our Mind Infoline, information and advice services", said Emma Ihsan, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind
