Gas servicing during the coronavirus pandemic

We’re rescheduling gas servicing visits for households which contain extremely vulnerable (shielded) people. We'll rearrange your visit for when your isolation has ended.

For your safety, all other gas servicing visits are going ahead. Our teams are following government guidelines on social distancing and have personal protective equipment. We'll contact you to arrange your appointment.

If you’re not sure whether you’re extremely vulnerable, read the government’s guidance on shielding and protecting people defined on medical grounds as extremely vulnerable.

We’re contacting everyone with an upcoming gas safety visit, but speak to us if you’re extremely vulnerable and you’re unsure if you’ve got a visit soon.

We must check your gas appliances each year by law. The check only takes about an hour.

You must let Liberty Gas into your home to do this.

Liberty Gas will contact you to book an appointment six weeks before your gas safety certificate expires.

If we find faulty appliances

If any of your own appliances are found to be unsafe or faulty they will have to be disconnected by law.

Gas appliances that are not working correctly can produce poisonous fumes, and around 50 deaths a year can be directly attributed to faulty gas appliances. For more information, see Gas Safe’s website.
